| Description | El Paso Center for Children is a nonprofit with more than 106 years of service to youth and families in need. Our mission is to empower youth and families to brave adversity and conflict through constantly evolving, innovative programs that co-create a brighter future. We serve children, youth, and young adults from birth to age 24, most of whom come from low-income households, have experienced homelessness, or have been impacted by trauma, abuse, or neglect. This $10,000 grant for general operating support will strengthen programs that provide housing, counseling, and prevention services across El Paso County. Funds will help sustain urgent needs such as apartment kits for homeless youth moving into permanent housing, outreach to connect families with resources, and short-term emergency support like food, diapers, or utilities for families in crisis. Each of these supports allows our team to respond quickly and compassionately, keeping youth safe and families together while we connect them to long-term solutions. In 2024, El Paso Center for Children served more than 4,300 individuals through programs spanning prevention, crisis intervention, housing, and therapy. By investing in operating support, the Dudley T. Dougherty Foundation will ensure these vital services remain available to every child and family in need, free of charge and without barriers to access. |
