| Used for | With $5,000, the Northern Arizona Community Food Project will purchase essential pantry supplies to support families facing food insecurity across Apache County. Funds will help our client-choice pantry. This support will provide support for over 22,000 meals to low-income, off-grid, and working families in need. |
| Benefits | This funding will help reduce hunger and improve nutrition in one of the poorest and most rural regions of the United States. By providing healthy food to struggling families, we strengthen community resilience and promote dignity through equitable food access. The impact extends beyond Apache County—supporting sustainability, reducing food waste, and fostering a more compassionate, food-secure world. |
| Proposal Description | The Northern Arizona Community Food Project (NACFP) seeks operational funding to sustain daily food pantry services that provide emergency groceries to families, seniors, and off-grid residents across Apache County, Arizona. This grant will directly support the transportation for food recovery and delivery, utility costs, and volunteer coordination essential to maintaining consistent service. Each year, NACFP distributes over 22,000 meals worth in food assistance, reaching approximately 1800 individuals annually. Grant funds will ensure that our facility remains operational, and that no resident in need is turned away due to resource shortages -helping reduce hunger and strengthen community health in one of America’s most underserved rural regions, including Saint Johns, Eager, Springerville, Concho and unincorporated off-grid communities. Indigenous communities of Sanders, Houck, New Lands, Wide Ruins, and outskirt communities in north-eastern Arizona. |
