As an organization, LCAA's mission and objective is to operate, manage, and financially maintain the Charles Major Lytle American Legion facility for the benefit of serving communities in Beeville. In this effort, due to rising operational expenses, and the depletion of existing funds caused by responding to the crisis of unexpected building repair costs, LCAA's financial operational budget is facing a severe deficit. Means of determining the upcoming operating budget is based on comparative annual expenses incurred during year 2022 and 2023, to estimate operational expenses for year 2024. Accordingly, the annual operational expenses incurred for 2022 totaled $13,520; while in 2023, to date, the expenses have totaled in excess of $25,000. However, that excessive amount was due to a $11,930 renovation projects of the 2 bathrooms in the American Legion that was funded by the Dougherty Foundation grant received in 2022. However, for year 2024, with rising costs, our annual expenses are anticipated to total in excess of $14,000. Efforts have been taken to raise additional funds, yet goals have not been met to forsee satisfying 2024 financial obligations. Therefore, if approved, funds from this grant, will be used to continue operation of the Charles Major Lytle American Legion facility, to ultimately serve and foster social enrichment in and throughout Beeville communities.
