| Description | The Dudley T. Dougherty Foundation grant would provide books and educational resources for Texans children in Austin or Houston. These materials will be distributed to support students from the most vulnerable backgrounds. By providing access to quality education resources students and families will be empowered to break the poverty cycle, improve their health and employment opportunities and life outcomes. |
| Used for | USA Reads will focus in closing the literacy and reading gap with children from the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds. This grant will support a distribution of 14,000 books for free to children and establish “Pop Up Libraries” in the most needed neighborhoods in Texas.
