Proposal Description Hello Life serves Cowlitz County, Washington and people nationwide through our online support groups and peer mentorship program. This grant will specifically affect those in our community and/or nationwide who are interested in obtaining an eating disorder hope advocate. An advocate can assist people who do not have access to professional eating disorder professionals, with advocacy based counseling, treatment grants through our Eating Disorder Recovery Program, and education and support. It is our goal to help those we serve enter and maintain longterm recovery. We achieve that goal by helping each person access treatment through our treatment grants, advocacy through our advocacy based counseling, support groups and education. This grant money will specifically be used to hire a part-time eating disorder advocate to provide those services. To date, our agency has only had volunteer peer mentors for those that we serve. But our data is showing a signifiant need for a part-time staff to dedicate 20 hours a week to solely advocating for those that we serve.
