Additional Information
Used for Our short-term goal is to serve more children in foster care in rural counties in Northeast Arkansas. To accomplish this staff will focus on in-depth face-to-face recruiting efforts and media saturation in cities and towns in rural counties we serve. Funds will be used for program advertisements, community fairs, advocate recruiter mileage and the creation and printing of marketing materials.
Benefits By increasing our volunteer advocate base this will enable us to assign a Court Appointed Special Advocate to many more children in foster care in rural counties. These children will see direct benefits by having a friend, mentor and ultimately someone they can trust to represent their best interest in court and ensure that they find a safe and permanent home in a more efficient amount of time. Foster children who have a CASA perform better in school and have improved personal health.
Proposal Description Grant funds will be used to increase awareness and knowledge of CASA and to identify individuals who are interested in becoming a CASA. These individuals will complete pre-service training and ultimately become Officers of the Court and assigned a case involving children in foster care. The beneficiaries of these grant funds will mostly be the children in foster care who gain a CASA advocate who will be by their side thru a very difficult time in their lives.
