Additional Information
Used for This year we are running a capital campaign to raise the funds needed to replace the gym floor. We understand the economic situation in Beeville and Bee County and feel we must include our foundation donors in this project if we want to ensure we have the funds to complete this undertaking. The cost to replace the floor is $40,000. The cost to replace the basketball goals indoor and outdoor is $10,000.
Benefits The Boys & Girls Club programs are designed to develop attitudes, relationships, and desirable skills and standards for good moral and physical development. We are dedicated to ensuring that all of our community’s children have access to our Club’s quality programs and services to enhance their lives and positively shape their futures.
Proposal Description We are very excited to announce that our club is receiving a major facelift this fall. Our facilities are being renovated to include our restrooms, kitchen, library, computer room, game room and gym. These upgrades were made possible by the Beeville Economic Improvement Corporation and the City Council. The Board of Boys & Girls Club of Beeville is humbled and honored that our club was chosen to receive this funding. The project includes so many new and excited upgrades to the club but the funds run short of replacing the gym floor and the indoor and outdoor basketball goals.

At this time of the year our Board of Directors reaches out to community members and Foundations to ask for your help. This year we are running a capital campaign to raise the funds needed to replace the gym floor. We understand the economic situation in Beeville and Bee County and feel we must include our foundation donors in this project if we want to ensure we have the funds to complete this undertaking. The cost to replace the floor is $40,000. The cost to replace the basketball goals indoor and outdoor is $10,000. As you can imagine the cost is not something we can just write a check for. Dougherty funds are also earmarked to update our computers and summer programs such as field trips, arts and crafts, swimming lessons and in house game room activities.

The Boys & Girls Club is a vital community resource as we care for more than 1000 youth a year ages 6-18 by offering them a safe, well supervised, drug free environment where they can spend their after school and summer leisure time hours. We offer educational, social, vocational, physical education, outdoor environment and character development for the youth. We also offer after school tutorials, computer classes, arts & crafts, summer field trips, swimming lessons and the Spurs Drug-Free Youth Basketball league. These programs are designed to develop attitudes, relationships, and desirable skills and standards for good moral and physical development. We are dedicated to ensuring that all of our community’s children have access to our Club’s quality programs and services to enhance their lives and positively shape their futures.

We are forever grateful to the Barnhart Dudley T Dougherty Foundation as you continue to acknowledge the importance our club is to the children of Beeville and Bee Country. When kids are actively engaged in positive activities they stay out of trouble and off the streets. With support from citizens, businesses and foundations, we are able to provide a variety of ways to assist our youth in their journey to a productive adulthood.

We ask your continued support in the amount of a $15,000.00 grant that will allow us to provide the quality club our members deserve. We thank you in advance for supporting the youth of our county.
