Additional Information
Used for FUSION provides transitional housing to the area homeless. In order to generate a revenue stream due to decreased government funding, we opened a boutique to sell upscale gently used home furnishings. Our boutique operation has been very successful and we are moving to a new location which requires new signage. All proceeds from this volunteer managed organization are returned to the organization to cover housing costs or acquire additional housing units.
Benefits Funds from this grant will provide a new monument sign at our new location which will increase the visibility of the store. Funds generated from this boutique are used exclusively to support transitional housing therefore reducing the number of homeless families and providing them a pathway to self-sufficiency.
Proposal Description This grant will provide funds for a monument sign at our new boutique location thereby increasing visibility and sales. This boutique provides home furnishings to those in the Greater Seattle area at a fraction of the cost for new goods. However, the main beneficiaries are those homeless families who enter our program and work to achieve self-sufficiency by moving into permanent stable house at the end of their stay in our program (18-24 months). Our boutique is an all-volunteer operation that has been in operation for three-plus years and has been extremely successful by generating a revenue stream to support our homeless housing program for families. We recently acquired a new location for our operating and are in need of additional signage which the proceeds from this grant will provide.
