Grant Description
Description	The Cougar Band Aids Booster organization supports the music programs at El Dorado High School in Placerville, CA. They include Jazz, Choir, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Beginning Instruments and Color Guard. Annually, we need to raise about $80,000 to cover costs of running this outstanding performing arts department. In 2017-18 we hope to purchase new large wind instruments for our program. Some of the instruments we currently have are close to 100 years old and are acting their age. Small repairs and band-aides are simply not working anymore. We do everything in our power to raise as much money as we can for our program which includes fundraising events, concerts, soliciting sponsors and grants and partnering with local businesses to ensure a successful school year. Used for	In 2017-18 we hope to: Purchase and maintain musical instruments, purchase and maintain uniforms, purchase new sheet music and provide transportation to competitions.
Benefits	Our organization began approximately 30 years ago to provide support for the El Dorado High School Band, the Administration of said school and the School Board thereof, and to assist the band in reaching their goals which include: 1. To enhance the musical development of music students through participation in competitions, honor bands and related musical experiences. 2. To maintain a strong communication link to El Dorado High School Administration for the purposes of the efficient and proper use of school facilities and fundraising programs. 3. To encourage parent support of the music program at El Dorado High School through communication and opportunities for participation at all music events. 4. To cooperate with other El Dorado High School Booster organizations in promoting positive experiences for our students.
