| Description | PDAP aims to ease the suffering and alienation of young people affected by substance abuse and its devastating effects. Built on a non-denominational spiritual foundation, PDAP is a fellowship of young people and their parents who share their experience, love, and understanding, so that they may solve their common problems and help them recover from the effects of mind changing chemicals. |
| Used for | Grateful for past support from the Dudley T. Dougherty Foundation, Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP) will continue to offer free group activities to its young participants, who benefit from learning how to have fun without the use of drugs, while also reintegrating into normal society. The Dudley T. Dougherty Foundation's monetary contribution would be used for the activity costs for social activities for the youth served in our program. |
| Benefits | PDAP sets a foundation of hope that extends into the greater community by supporting young people and their families to recover and heal from the detriments of substance abuse. Abstinence from substances, a renewal of relationships, and normalizing activities are components of the PDAP program. These positive actions benefit increased stability, happiness, and serenity for those served by PDAP, creating more productive citizens whose experience can be shared with others struggling with substance abuse. |
