The mission of 2 Days Kids is to provide nutritional meals to feed the hungry. More importantly, we focus on the hungry children in our community of Dallas, Texas and surrounding communities within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We accomplish this through partnerships with local apartment complexes who sponsor our services to their community. We offer nutritional meals and snacks to children in that community through after-school programs and summer programs. <br/><br/>Texas has 1.8 million children who are at risk of not having what is considered healthy meals daily. We know hunger effects focus, grades at school and in some cases behavior. How can we expect children to feel better and behave better in school when they're hungry? Our program is a significant contributor to fighting the impact of poverty for these children. Many of whom have no meals awaiting them when they are home due to the limited incomes of their families. 2-DAY'S KIDS, "Feed the Need," food program is tailored to provide nutritional meals to children living in food insecure households.<br/> <br/>With the generous support $10,000, we will be able to help many of these families to meet essential daily needs through the purchase of a food truck. This food truck will bring hot meals to children who may not have one available to them at home. The timetable for implementation of our Food Truck is 60-90 days after receipt of funds. We would need to ensure it is properly inspected, passes local health code ordinances, is properly insured and mechanically sound.
