Additional Information
Used for We travel to schools with a native species (bobcat, raccoon, owl) and give children the opportunity to see the animals up close and explain how they fit into the picture with our surrounding world and themselves.
Benefits Often these young people have never seen these animals up close and it is the first AH Ha moment. When they realize they are not the only "thing" out there, And they are, most often. so very excited to learn how they can "help". And I believe that gets carried "OUT There" with them. And without it, I know it does not.
Proposal Description The money will be used to help OVRWR get to every class and event we are invited to. The need to say,"No, I am sorry, we do not have the funds." hurts us far worse than the children. They do not know what our programs are about before we arrive. But we have been exposed to that "wonder" and it never fails to humble you. They get it , they just had not been told, specifically, that they can and will make a difference by every decision they make. It is the most rewarding thing ever,
