Additional Information
Used for The New York Horse Park, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation organized to design, develop and operate a horse park in Saratoga County, New York. The mission of the New York Horse Park (NYHP) is to provide competitive, recreational and learning opportunities for youth and adults while respecting and caring for the environment and to preserve the rural, equestrian and agricultural character of the surrounding areas. Currently all funds raised go directly to the development and purchase of the specified property
Benefits The vision for the NYHP is to develop a large, multi-use, state-of-art facility capable of attracting regional, national and international equine competitions and participants; a world class destination for tourists, families and equestrians, complete with at least one covered arena capable of seating thousands of spectators to allow for year-round showing highlighting the grace and glamour of horses.
Proposal Description The Capital Budget includes four different components as listed below. The capital campaign began in April 2012 and will continue through all phases of the Park’s development. Once the Park is completed, fundraising efforts will be directed to funding losses from operations until Year 4 of the Plan when the New York Horse Park is expected to reach break even.
Below is a summary of the Capital Budget goals:

Acquisition of Land (500 acres) $ 4M - $ 7M
Site Planning and Development $ 2M - $ 3M
Facilities Planning and Design $ 3M - $ 4M
Facilities Construction $42M - $53M

Currently our capital campaign is in phase 1 Acquisition of land. We have isolated the location and have obtain letters of intent from the land owners. Once the land is obtained, the Board of Directors will seek bids for the engineering and site development of the New York Horse Park. The Board will solicit bids from firms that have been involved with developing comparable equine facilities and have local affiliations. This phase will include (need to list all pieces i.e. obtaining permits, obtaining approvals from City, State and working with EPA on wetlands issue, septic, etc.).
Finally, the design of the New York Horse Park will begin followed by construction of the facilities. Again, architectural and engineering firms that have relevant experience will be sought and priority given to local firms. The following is an outline of estimated costs to construct the facilities, however, these costs are not based on detailed architectural or engineering studies. They are based on historic data and local cost indicators and as well as costs incurred by other horse parks. Currently all funds raised go directly to the development and purchase of the specified property
