Additional Information
Used for Still Creek ranch is a safe haven for homeless and abandoned; disadvantaged children ages 6 -18. We give these children a second chance, by providing a loving structured home environment and a quality education that both teaches them life skills and restores their hope for a future. The money will be used for Residence Expenses to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children by providing for their material, educational, and physical needs (clothing, food, personal care items, school supplies, etc.).
Benefits As the life of each child is positively touched and the course of their life forever altered by our ministry; so will the positive impact of this child on the world grow so that one day they will become contributing members of our community. Still Creek Ranch can be considered 100% successful when these children are off the streets escaping homelessness and abuse, and in our program receiving assistance, education, counseling and a safe and stable place to live, grow, and learn. Most of our children go on to college, military service, trade school, or full-time employment becoming contributing members of society and positively impacting the world around them.
Proposal Description The $7,500 funding request from the Dudley T. Dougherty Foundation will be used for the Residence Expenses of the children (ages 6 - 18) residing at Still Creek Ranch. The Residence Expenses include: clothing; meals and groceries; medical and dental; special events; camp field trips, and recreation; electricity and utilities; personal care items; and transportation. The annual budget for Residence Expenses is $198,000 and the $7,500 request comprises 4% of the Residence Expenses Budget. Still Creek Ranch provides for the material, educational, and physical needs of each child; creating and environment that is safe for the children to live and learn the basic principles of life in faith; offer hope and a future by equipping each child with a quality education and by building the character of each child. There are two cottages for the boys (houses up to 24 children) and one cottage for the girls (houses up to 10 children). Each cottage has a set of house-parents that care for the children and provide day-to-day guidance, instruction, and serve as role models displaying the attributes of a Christ-centered life.

The effectiveness of our program will be measured through the academic and non-academic progress of each child. A successful program will educate each student based on their educational plan, instill self-confidence, promote esteem, develop character, and provide hope for the future promoting the likelihood that each child will one day become a contributing member of society that will positively impact the world around them. Vocational programs will be integrated into each student's educational plan in order to promote intrinsic value and self-worth within each student. Our program is not new; we have seen the positive results in the lives of our students over the years and anticipate continued success as our program continues.

Still Creek Ranch does not receive support from the United Way or any government grants or funding.
