Used for The money will support the start up/ first year of the Fine Arts Education Program at First Christian Church. It will provide instruments, resources and scholarships for students. The church has spacious classrooms dedicated to the program and no funds to provide instruments and resources.
Benefits All people have talent, especially children. Exploring, nuruturing and developing talent is a responsibility and ethical duty that ensures rich community life and joy for the individual. All skill levels will be welcome and potentially will provide a stream of students for Fine Arts performance and higher education in the future.
Proposal Description Instruments - Rent to Purchase – Revenue buys replacement instruments to repeat process for incoming students. No profit will be made.

All funds granted will be for the benefit of the students' Fine Arts education. Nothing will benefit the teachers or the church.

The Fine Arts Education Program will be structured as a "Collegium" or "Conservatory." Teachers will gather in one place to provide lessons to meet the skill and age level of students intereted in exploring and developing their natural talent. Enrollment will remain open throughout the year for students and for additional instructors not yet identified. To ensure commitment and discipline to practce and rehearsals, students will pay fees for instruction, music and instructional materials required. Wide spread public advertisement - limited only by church funds available - and scholarships will ensure a diverse student enrollment.

At this time in planning the following teachers are committed to the start up year. Choir & Piano, Cheryl Roberts. Theater Arts, Sally Friedlander. Violin, Lindsay Ray & Guadalupe Lopez. Persons interested in teaching Brass, Guitar, Voice and Woodwind are in conversation with the Steering Committee.
Members of the Steering Committee are: Lindsay Ray, Chair, Sally Friedlander, Dr. James Lee, Cheryl Roberts and Reverend Geraldine Huckman.

August 2010 is the projected date for Enrollment and First Semester of the program.
