Additional Information
Used for The money will be used to build an emergency youth shelter in the Northwest area of Oklahoma. The emergency shelter will help house runaways, homeless youth and children. The 15,000 will be put towards building the building.
Benefits The emergency youth shelter would benefit the world by showing the youth and children homeless that there is someone out there that cares and will help them with medical, education, and life. The shelter would give a child the chance to be off the streets and not choose crime as a means to live or surrvive, by keeping a child or youth off the streets the crime rate will be lowered. The world would benefit because there is the chance a child learns that love is better than hate and that being alone is not the choice, but caring and making a difference is what matters in the world, and this shelter would give them that look at what can come from getting help, so they can help someone else.
Proposal Description The grant will help build an emergency youth shelter which will benefit runaway, homeless, and abuised youth and children.Youth and Family Services, are requesting $15,000, help fund the building of an emergency youth shelter in the Northwest area of Oklahoma. The 15,000 dollars will go towards the project which will require 1 million dollars totally to build and to furnish. The reason for the request is that so many children are in need of a place to stay. A shelter will help youth and children stay off the streets and out of criminal behavior, which will help our communities and the future of the United States. Youth and Family Services already have one building in which houses 12, so it is possible to finish. The need for another shelter is because of the area in which the shelter is in, many children and youth do not have the advantage of being placed there due to lack of room and the location itself. The plan is to apply for many grants and get community involvement, there are already interests in this project by community leaders, and however the building plans are at a standstill due to the funds not being available right now due to the economy. The program keeps track of the youth and children going and coming; they make yearly reports and can send out reports at the end of the year to grant funders. This grant from the Dudley T. Daugherty Foundation will help build a future for runaway, homeless and abuised youth and children.
